AMECO takes part in sponsoring Utopia House Project in Mulhouse

AMECO is proud to be a sponsor of the Utopia House Project in Mulhouse, which started in Autumn of 2016 and will be completed in 2019.

Utopia House is a sculptural masterpiece, created by Jan Kopp for and with the students of St Joseph de Cluny High School.

The ultimate goal is to build a recreational room for the students of St Joseph de Cluny High School, through the construction of a wooden, Alsatian designed boat. Various workshops have been carried out at La Kunsthalle in Mulhouse, teaching students the art of research and experimentation in order to construct the boat.

The boat has already gone through numerous buoyancy tests and is currently in the construction phase to be fit for a 417 km journey along the Rhone-Rhine canal. Utopia House will be navigated by the students of St. Joseph de Cluny High School and become part of Jan Kopp’s solo exposition at the Foundation Bullukian in May of this year in Lyon.

Utopia House will then be on display at La Kunsthalle in Mulhouse, to be turned upside-down and become the roof of their future recreational hall.

AMECO is proud to be investing in the education of Alsace’s future generation, contributing to safeguarding the future of our youth in such a rewarding project.

UTC students that collaborate with AMECO

AMECO strengthens its partnership with the University of Technology of Compiègne

Since 2009, AMECO has had a partnership with the University of Technology of Compiègne (UTC). This university ranks #4 among the top French engineering schools and has been recognised for its cutting edge R&D activities. Specifically, AMECO collaborates with UTC’s Roberval Laboratory, an institute specialised in mechanics, acoustics and vibrations, materials and design.

Over the past four years, the UTC Master students associated with the Roberval Laboratory have engaged in research projects aimed at improving the design of AMECO’s bulk material handling systems. The students’ research enables AMECO to fulfil its goal of consistently meeting and succeeding customer expectations. As such, the collaboration with UTC is extremely valuable to AMECO.

To show its appreciation to the UTC students and to strengthen its bond with them, AMECO has now organised a competition. Over the course of the next six months the UTC students will work in groups on AMECO related projects. At the end of the six-month period, a jury composed of UTC and AMECO representatives will evaluate their results. The members of the group deemed best will win a special prize: an all expenses paid trip to one of AMECO’s 380+ machines delivered to its global clients. Because nothing is more valuable for a newly graduated engineer than practical experience!
