Mining industry
Mining and quarries need to transport large quantities of Bulk Materials in difficult conditions and harsh environments. Materials handled for this industry such as iron ore, nickel ore, salts or copper matte are very abrasive and dense.
AMECO’s beginnings lie in the fertilizer and mining industry. At its foundation, in 1932, our company was namely part of the Alsatian potash mines. We went from providing them with maintenance services, to supplying them with conveyors, to eventually delivering all types of equipment to fulfill their material handling needs.
AMECO’s Equipment
To this day, the mining industry is a significant market for AMECO. We have ample experience in the design and manufacturing of stacker/reclaimers (including bed blending storages) and shiploaders that are able to handle mining products such as:
- phosphate,
- potash,
- salt,
- copper concentrate,
- iron ore,
- nickel ore,
- coal.
AMECO’s Shiploader at SNSK (Norway)
A project AMECO is particularly proud of is the delivery of a shiploader to load coal into sea vessels at a capacity of 2000 TPH to Store Norske Spitsbergen Kulkompani (SNSK). This Norwegian company operates the world’s northernmost mine in Svea, Svalbard.
Due to the polar weather conditions, AMECO had to respect very strict delivery dates, completely rethink its design and ship the machine fully assembled. All challenges AMECO took in stride and completed to the client’s satisfaction.
